KIPPAX CRICKET ACADEMY
Welcome to Kippax Cricket Academy. Our lead coach is Ash Thorpe, a former Durham cricketer who grew up in Perth, Western Australia. He attended the famous Kent Street Senior High School and played his club cricket for Scarborough Cricket Club and was part of the WACA pathway system. In 1997 he decided to call England home and has been a professional at various clubs and is still playing NEPL cricket whilst also being Director of Cricket at Washington Cricket Club. He has vast coaching knowledge having worked with elite professional teams and academies around the world. Ash is also head coach for Durham Cricket in their partnership with Park View Academy of Sport. In his 'spare' time, he works for the ECB as a Coach Developer and Assessor and is involved with Durham Cricket in their pathway programmes.
Ash also hosts a Podcast 'From The Finchale End' and commentates for the BBC on Durham's home games.
